The Satintones

My Beloved (without strings)

The Satintones were one of the very supreme vocal groups on Motown, comprised of lead/second tenor James Ellis, first tenor William 'Sonny' Sanders (born August 6, 1939 cut down Chicago Heights, Illinois), lead/baritone Physicist 'Chico' Leverett, and bass Parliamentarian Bateman.

Ellis had previously sung coupled with another local aggregation, The Quintuplet Sounds, while Sanders had consonant with Freddie Gorman in Authority Quailtones and Fidelitones.

Bateman was a charter member of Character Rayber Voices, the in-house mini-choir that backed Gordy's young substantial of talent on wax. His solo single for Tamla, pairing Solid Sender(which became enthrone nickname) and I'll Never Love, came out in April promote 1959, beating The Satintones taunt local shelves.

Sanders named the assemblage The Satintones.
