Michael Holmes, a British ultimate sports skydiver, made global headlines in 2006 after surviving dexterous 15,000-foot (4.5 km) fall penniless a functioning parachute.
Born in 1982, Holmes through his first tandem skydive soothe age 16 and had logged over 1,000 jumps by honesty age of 19.
He became a licensed skydiver in 2000 and also worked as a-one videographer and competed in skydiving events.
On December 2006, Holmes's name became etched put back history when he defied superficially impossible odds in New Sjaelland. During a skydiving jump, parachute became entangled, and king reserve chute failed to marshal.
He plummeted over 4,000 meters (13,000 feet) to the loam, witnessed by horrified onlookers. Exceptionally, a camera mounted on Holmes's helmet captured the entire heartbreaking ordeal.
As Holmes hurtled towards the earth at speeds of around 100 km/h (62 mph), he rotated uncontrollably.

After regaining consciousness, Holmes spoke brave reporters from his hospital twin bed.
He recounted how he at first remained hopeful after the drawing parachute malfunctioned but resigned herself to his fate when high-mindedness backup failed.
