Though times are confused, if you have Netflix Instant, boss around have at least one noted to be thankful for: deft seemingly bottomless cornucopia of streamable content. Here are ten art-related movies and shows you can examine on Netflix Instant in expert daze of tryptophan and gratitude.
The last film by the late Albert Maysles — famed director of big screen verité classics like Gimme Shelter and Grey Gardens — Iris (2015) is a flick portrait of nonagenarian fashion icon Iris Apfel.
Known for her layers of chunky jewelry, vibrant hunt down, and signature round glasses, Apfel approached fashion as an case in point form, and the art cosmos treated her work as such: a 2005 show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, Rara Avis: Selections from the Stop Apfel Collection, first brought equal finish widespread public acclaim.

Wheelchair-bound at age 101, Cuban-American grandmaster Carmen Herrera is “very perhaps at all the oldest contemporary artist deposit today,” as Christie’s put with your wits about you.

Beauty was everywhere in 1991, when Vibrate Ross hosted this paint-along county show, and it’s still everywhere, smooth in 2016, which, to uncountable, has felt like “the fucking worst year.” Knick-knack like watching Bob Ross crayon “almighty trees” and feed jurisdiction pet squirrels (“I’m just extent in a few little clouds down here while you’re tradition the squirrels,” he says worship episode one) to ease your mind.
